4. Pick your Kanaiâs Cube bonuses. The most important one by far is Leoricâs Crown, which will give you a double bonus for that XP gem you just put in, so thatâs 70-80% bonus XP. If you donât have Leoricâs Crown you can get one the first time you kill Leoric with any new character. For my other picks I just did The Furnace for extra elite damage (useful for rift bosses especially) and Countess Juliaâs Cameo for jewelry because getting trapped in an arcane death maze is probably the only thing that might kill you at this point.

5. Pick the difficulty youâre most comfortable with. I did Expert for a while before moving up to Master. Donât go too high or youâll be inefficiently running rifts for less XP than you might be able to grab at a lower difficulty.
6. You will level up quickly, so after each rift, check out your new skills and try them out in a sort of Necromancer express mode. There will be plenty of time to learn all their nuances later. The best skills at low levels for fast clearing at either corpse explosion or corpse lance with a golem/skeleton army to back you up.

7. Only pick up rares and legendaries. Check every rift or two for what you can upgrade, which will be almost everything every few levels or so. This too will make going through rifts much faster. Focus only on damage for now. At these difficulties, survivability should not be a problem.
8. Use every legendary as they will always out pace your rares for probably 5-10 levels. You can turn the generic ones into forgotten souls but save all unique Necromancer items because you can Kanaiâs Cube them later, even if theyâre at low levels. The effect will still be absorbed.
(Bonus: I forgot about the Gem of Ease, which gives you 500 XP per monster kill and can make any super high level weapon level 1 requirement which means you can blow through everything like a hurricane. You may not own one of these or have it ranked to 25 at this point, but if you do, go nuts).
And thatâs it. I donât know how many runs this took me, but probably less than 30 with clears taking anywhere from 4-7 minutes depending on the map. And voila, Iâm max level and starting to get actually cool drops for a change as I move into higher Torment levels with my power ramping up exponentially.
So, thatâs my advice, but play through the story or whatever you want to do if thatâs your bag. My bag is getting full armor sets so I wanted to get to the point where that was possible as soon as I could. I regret nothing.

Here follows a few tips on how to level up a character from scratch. The best way is always to be boosted by a friend while playing at high Torment levels. But if you don't have such an option, you can find useful these suggestions. Most of the following ideas are based on the fact you already have a well enstabilished lvl 70 character:1) Play at the higher difficulty you can. You must be able to kill mobs quickly enough, so use your judgment for this. If you're able to kill a Fallen One in 1-3 hits, for example, the difficulty is good. Remember that quantity is more important than quality: the more, the best. Remember that quests give more experience if completed at higher difficulty levels, so increase it just before completing one. 2) Items can have sockets starting from level 15. This means you can craft or search for socketed weapons and put into them an high level Ruby, in order to build a weapon with an incredible DPS for your level. This advantage will slowly lose effectiveness as you level up, even if you keep your weapon updated, as the benefits of the gem will slowly decrease. Ruby is quite good on helm, too, as it gives you a nice boost in experience gain. It can be worth to have both chest and legs socketed with Amethyst, too, in order to boost survivability and allow you to play more relaxed at higher Torment levels. 3) Rush levels, avoid single monsters and instead try to kill big groups. The bonus experience from massacre (kill streak) is incredibly useful, trust me. Because of this, try to use a character build that focus on Area Of Effect (AoE) damage and movement speed, changing it to a single target one for specific boss fights (like The Butcher). Why rush to the game's end? Because bounties are probably the best way to level up quickly, so the faster you unlock adventure mode, the faster you can do them. 4) If you like to farm mobs, repeatedly do Act III most dense levels, like The Keep Depths, or Ruins of Corvus in Act V. In these levels you can easily build big chains that awards with huge amount of experience even at T1-T2. 5) When you reach level 40+, you can build a level 70 weapon with the 'Reduced Level Requirement' quality. On a level 70 legendary, this affix range from 2 to 30 (falling usually around 13-18), allowing a character to wield such a mighty weapon much before it could, and giving him an awesome DPS. This affix is quite rare and elusive, but there is a trick to get it: craft a legendary weapon and make sure it comes with a 'n% chance to xxx on hit' (where n is a number, and xxx a word: for exampe, 1,2% chance to Stun on hit) and another secondary stat (one among Life per Kill, Monster kills grants +X experience, Ignores Durability Loss or Maximum Mana, Fury etc.). Try to get a good one, with the right main stat for the character you're levelling up (like Strength for Barbarian) and Vitality or socket. Once you're done, run to the enchanter and just substitute the last secondary quality (leave the 'n% chance to xxx on hit' as it is) until you get the desiderd 'Reduced Level Equirement'. You'll probably able to use the weapon once you reach level 50 or so, based on your luck, but it's still a very useful trick, especially for the last 10 levels, where craftable equipment is limited and hard to upgrade.

Hi, i thought i'd share some of the builds i am working on. If you have any cool or unique builds then feel free to share too!
Sorcerer
Tanky Mage: This is the high AC, fast block sorc. Arguably the most powerful PVM build in the game.
Spells:
Arty mage: Short for 'Artillery mage'. This build ignores AC and blocking in favour of more mana and/or using a staff. Arty mages usually use lots of gear that boosts spell levels, this mostly just boost fireball damage by a bit. Not worth much imo. A good trick is to lower your HP before casting mana shield, this effectively makes you immune to hit recovery lock. Many veterans consider this cheesy.
Spells: Arty's use the same spells as all other mages..
Rogue Rogues are by far the most versatile class in Diablo 1. They are somewhat decent at everything, but suffer from low mana and life.
'Standard' rogue The rogue is commonly associated with bow-usage since they are the only class that can use these weapons effectively.
Spells
Melee rogue Due to their abnormal dexterity rogues have the best AC, blocking chance and to-hit of any class. For this reason they are arguably the best Civerb's cudgel users. The melee rogue does suffer versus succubi/advocates compared to the bow variant.
Spells Same spells as the regular rogue. I much prefer heal over mana shield because of the helm of sprits. It just does not mix well with mana shield. Stone curse is more important for this variant because it helps deal with succubi and other ranged enemies.
Rogue mini-mage The rogue is not nearly as potent a spellcaster as the sorcerer but spells are just so good in Diablo 1 that this is a popular leveling option. Personally i consider this variant inferior to the bow variant. I don't really see a huge gain in casting ability while i do see a huge penalty to defensive capabilities.
You can use zodiac jewels and wear a full plate/stormshield/royal circlet for increased survivability with a switch to civerb's cudgel for dealing with triple immunes. These items take a huge toll on your maximum mana however making it questionable if it is really better than the bow rogue.
Spells Mini-mages use the same spells as the arty mage.
Warrior is often considered the weakest class but i think that is unfair. It's more gear dependent and tougher to play for sure, but i do feel like it's the most 'Diablo 1' of the classes and with some clever tactics and movement it is still pretty strong. The warrior gains a 1% chance to do double damage per level, maxing out at 50%. I will not be covering the warrior mini-mage, it plays almost exactly like the rogue. Only difference is that warriors cast slower and has less mana.
'Standard' warrior. The regular warrior is all about maximizing stats really.
Max Level Diablo 3
Spells Warriors cast slow but there are still some good spells you should use.
Civerb's cudgel warrior Now we're getting into the 'wacky builds'. Warriors have a natural problem hitting things which is why the strange/king's weapons are so popular. To counteract the low to-hit Gold jewels are needed which in turn sacrifices a lot of mana/life. The pay-off for this is the ability to deal massive damage in melee. Finding the items for this build is quite difficult. The only place for finding Gold jewels of the heavens is level 12-14 of the dungeon and these jewels are badly needed for this build. This build struggles more than the regular build when it comes to dealing with succubi/advocates.
Spells Same as standard warrior but this build does not have the mana to use the spells as frequently.
The assassin Monsters in Diablo 1 cannot see you if you cannot see them. Huh. So by equipping two 'of the dark' items, 'gaining' -80% light radius, you can walk right up to them without them noticing. How deliciously abusable ;)
Diablo 2 Max Level
This only works if you have -80% light radius Before entering a dungeon level.
Diablo 1 Stats
Spells Most of the spells aren't great when you can't see your enemies. Healing is probably the only one i'd really go for. Infravision scrolls are rock-solid for this build.
